Tired of gridlock, higher tolls on the Dulles Access Road? Wondering what the future holds for ameliorating the traffic in McLean and Great Falls?
The McLean Citizens Association Transportation Committee, in collaboration with the Transportation Committee of the Great Falls Citizens Association, cordially invites you to an April 1 meeting with the Virginia Secretary of Transportation, Aubrey Layne, to address these issues. The meeting, which will be held at the McLean Community Center, will start at 6:00 PM.
The meeting will address a number of issues:
Tolls increases on the Dulles Access Road
The use of local roads to access I-495 to avoid the tolls
Widening of Route 7 between Jarrett Valley Drive and Reston Avenue
A possible “Outer Beltway” to cross the Potomac west of Fairfax County
The overall increase in traffic gridlock in McLean and Great Falls
Other discussion topics that Sec. Layne would like to include
This will be an opportunity for residents of the area to get an understanding of the views of the new Virginia Secretary Transportation at a time when transportation funding and infrastructure improvements are on the verge of increasing. There also will be time to get your questions addressed. Please come and invite your friends and neighbors.
