Proper monitoring and disposal of unused and expired prescription medications prevents drug misuse and abuse, accidental intake and poisoning, and promotes water and environmental health. With this in mind, the Safe Community Coalition (SCC) is implementing a one-day Prescription Medication Collection activity. We encourage everyone to participate in keeping our community safe by bringing their expired and unused medications to the McLean Community Center (1234 Ingleside Avenue, McLean, VA) for safe disposal on May 21, 2011 from 11am until 5pm. Sponsors include the McLean Community Center, The Medicine Chest Pharmacy, the McLean Police District Station, the Fairfax County Solid Waste Program, the Office on Public Private Partnerships and the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board.
