Greater McLean is an unincorporated community located within Fairfax County and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Fairfax County is served by a Board of Supervisors composed of 10 members; a chairman, elected at large, and one member from each of nine Supervisory districts, elected for four-year terms by the voters of the districts in which the members reside. The Board appoints a County Executive to administer the county government, carrying out the policies established by the Board. Most of the Greater McLean area is represented by the Dranesville District Supervisor, with a small portion located in the Providence District, as well as the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors and various State officials.
