About Maureen Scholz:
Maureen P Scholz ACSR CIC CPIW DAE is currently the VP of Commercial Lines at the McLean Insurance Agency, Inc. She has been working for the agency since 1989 and started out as the personal lines CSR. Maureen began her insurance career in Culpeper, VA while working for her father, Dan Peacock at the General Insurance Agency of Culpeper, Inc. The Independent Insurance Agents of America voted her the ACSR of the year in 1995. She was given the Jeanne Baridon Award by the Insurance Women of Northern Virginia in 1995. She was named the 1998 Professional Insurance Agents of VA DC Customer Service Representative of the year as well as the Professional Insurance Leader of Tomorrow award from the Independent Insurance Agents of Virginia. In 1999 and 2004, she was named Insurance Women of the Year by the Insurance Women of Northern VA.
She has held the offices of Secretary, Second Vice President, Vice President and President of Insurance Women of Northern VA (1999-2000 and 2006-2007) and served as the State Council Director in 2006 for the International Association of Insurance Professionals (NAIW) She is the ACSR committee chair with the Independent Insurance Agents of Virginia. She was most recently (2011) awarded the Outstanding Customer Service Representative for Virginia from the National Alliance on Insurance Research and Education Institute.
About Michael S. Feinberg, ChFC – Life Insurance Specialist
Michael Feinberg began his insurance career upon graduation from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce. He joined John Hancock Financial Services in 1995, working primarily with individuals, families and small businesses in the Washington, DC area. He specialized in Life, Disability, and Long Term Care Insurance.
In 2001, Michael created an independent insurance brokerage: Synergy Financial Services. Synergy specializes in assessing clients’ needs and implementing life and disability insurance strategies for families and businesses, both locally and in more than 40 states nationwide. As an independent agent, he has been able to maintain a client-based approach and to tailor his recommendations to fit each client’s particular requirements.
Michael’s experience over more than 18 years as an independent agent and field underwriter, in cooperation with an excellent team of experienced underwriting consultants, has resulted in a unique proficiency for working with both basic and complex insurance needs for individuals of all ages, insurance categories and medical profiles.
Now, bringing his independent philosophy and client-based approach to McLean Insurance Agency as a Life Insurance specialist, Michael feels privileged to be working with an agency with longstanding roots in the local community, sharing the same service-based ideals.
