Our speaker will be Michael Caplin, Executive Director for Tysons Partnership, an association of business, government and community leaders working together to redevelop Tysons Corner, Virginia from a 1970s business park into an exciting, sustainable 21st Century downtown.


About Michael Caplin
Michael Caplin is Executive Director of Tysons Partnership, an association of business, government and community leaders working together to redevelop Tysons Corner, Virginia from a 1970s business park into an exciting, sustainable 21^st Century downtown.

Mr. Caplin is responsible for operations, membership, programs, finance, communications,  government and community relations.

He is a graduate of Swarthmore College, the University of Virginia Law School, Georgetown University Law School, and Georgetown University Public Policy Institute.  His career experience includes service as a public defender, a federal prosecutor, counsel to performing artists, a program director at the Smithsonian Institution, senior executive for several non-profits, and a social entrepreneur.  He is chairman of the Global Advisory Board of the George Mason University Center for Social Entrepreneurship, and he is a Member of the U.S. Presidential Scholars Commission, appointed by the President in 2010.  For service to the Commonwealth, he received the Northern Virginia Leadership Award and the Governor’s Commendation.
