About Lesley MacDonald
Lesley MacDonald has over 20 years of experience as a grant maker to nonprofit health and human service organizations. Currently she serves as the Director of Community Investment for the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, where she oversees the Foundation’s discretionary grant making, scholarship funds and research studies. Prior to joining the Community Foundation Lesley worked in the United Way system, most recently as the Vice President of Community Impact for the United Way of Greater New Haven. In New Haven Lesley implemented major changes to the United Way’s funding to make the organization more impactful and responsive to community needs. She also served as project manager for a community wide needs assessment and led a capacity building initiative that helped nonprofits measure the outcomes of their programs. Lesley earned her Master’s of Social Work from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work. Lesley and her family live in Montgomery County, MD.
