Join us as artist and portraitist, Kerry Vosler, completes a classical portrait drawing in charcoal from a live model in the Emerson Gallery at McLean Project for the Arts (MPA). This event is open to anyone interested in classical drawing or those who want to preview MPA's classical drawing course for young artists offered August 8-12, 2016. Vosler will explain her techniques in real-time throughout the demonstration. We will take breaks every 20 minutes, and light refreshments will be served. This is a unique opportunity to watch a portraitist in her work, and learn more about the Vosler Young Artists’ Studio and classical drawing and portraiture education. Families are encouraged to attend, as this is a youth-friendly event! Kerry Vosler is an American painter of heirloom portraits and landscapes. She paints distinguished leaders, family portraits and entertainers. Vosler is an avid promoter of the arts and arts education which led her and her husband, Colonel James Vosler, in 2010 to found the Vosler Young Artists’ Studio, A Classical Atelier for children under eighteen in Tampa, Florida. Her school has been featured on “THE LIST,” ABC and Fox 13, Tampa, Florida. In November 2015, Kerry was featured in Tampa Bay Metro Magazine in, “Inspiring Women in Business."
